Press Release Author: Bangkok Hospital Medical Center

Industry: Healthcare

Press Release Summary: One of the greatest barriers to medical tourism thus far has
been the logistics of recuperating in a foreign city. Bangkok Hospital is now making
medical tourism easier for patients with their serviced apartments for a patient’s
support people to stay in.

Press Release Body: Bangkok Hospital Medical Centre has now built a serviced
apartment complex, streamlining support and visitation for foreign patients.

The apartment complex comprises 38 serviced rooms and is housed within the
hospital’s main building, on the 7th and 8th floors of the C building.
These serviced apartments can stay up to 3 people, at rates beginning from US$77 per
night for 3 people (at current conversion rates).

The serviced apartments have been created specially to cater to the needs of family
members and visitors.
Check-in and –out times are flexible, with a corresponding pricing structure. Rooms
are also available on a monthly basis, with discounts for these longer stays.

The rooms are designed to provide many of the comforts of home, with facilities such
as hotpots, refrigerators and individually controlled air conditioners standard
across the two levels of room – Studio and Deluxe.
Both levels of room offer multilingual cable television for international visitors.
Security is not an issue, with a keycard controlled access system and an in-room
safe in every room.
Patients’ support people can also keep in touch with work and family in their home
country from the convenience of their room, with Internet access in every suite.

Deluxe suites offer greater space than Studio rooms, with a 50 sq m floor area as
opposed to 25 sq m. This floor space is utilized for a living area.
Deluxe rooms include a microwave oven, as well as a bath, where Studio rooms
incorporate just a shower.

Above regular hotel services, the Bangkok Hospital serviced apartments also offer a
complimentary visa extension service, in recognition of the fact that many of the
customers are from overseas.
Food services also extend beyond the usual, quite expensive hotel restaurants found
at traditional accommodation. There is a cafeteria service and a pantry service, as
well as the cooking facilities and mini bars in both levels of room.

Bangkok Hospital recognizes that medical car is not simply a 9-to-5 prospect, and
the number of 24-hour services in the apartments reflects this.
The front desk is manned 24-hours, and room service, security and wake-up calls are
all available around the clock.

The serviced apartments at Bangkok Hospital Medical Centre make it one of only two
hospitals in Thailand to offer such a level of service in in-house accommodations
for visitors.

Of the 1.2 million foreign patients who sought treatment in Thailand last year,
around 500,000 of these came to Bangkok Hospital.
The serviced apartments make the hospital an even more attractive prospect for
overseas patients.
